The ISO 9001:2026 transition
Standards scope and the Standard Map: plan the ISO 9001:2026 transition. This is part of chapter 8 of the NormaQMS User Guide.
Plan the ISO 9001:2026 transition
Open: Settings > Standard map, then the transition view link above the map. Any member can open it; a narrowed audit room cannot.
The ISO 9001:2026 transition view compares a QMS scope that has adopted ISO 9001:2015 against the 2026 edition, requirement by requirement. It sorts every requirement into six counts:
| Count | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Needs work | No part of the current position carries. Plan these first. |
| Needs a read | The obligation moved. Someone has to re-read the clause and decide what changes. |
| Retiring | No longer carried forward. Decide what to do with the records. |
| Already satisfied | Unchanged, and a live control in this system already answers it. |
| Unaffected | Unchanged by the new edition. Whether it is satisfied is a separate question. |
| Outside your scope | Taken out of the declared boundary by a signed applicability decision. |
Each row names the clause, what Norma believes changed, the action a quality manager would take, and where that belief came from. Your position on a requirement comes from your signed applicability decisions and the live signal of the module that covers it. Where Norma holds no evidence either way, it says so rather than calling it a gap.
Every comparison is currently marked Provisional, including the ones that say nothing changed: they come from pre-publication reporting on the 2026 revision, not from the published document. Treat the list as a starting point to review, not a finding. Until the comparisons are confirmed against the published standard, ISO 9001:2026 is not offered for adoption under Settings > Standards & scope.
The view is read-only. Opening it does not adopt an edition, change a scope, or touch a record. It does not judge whether your system conforms, set transition dates, or say anything about your certificate: your certification body sets the transition timetable, and certification to the 2026 edition is their decision. When the edition can be adopted, adopting it is an ordinary signed scope baseline revision (above).
If the page reads No transition to show yet, adopt ISO 9001:2015 on a scope baseline first; if it reads No QMS scope yet., create a scope.
